Privacy Policy |
NORHOP does not sell any of your personal information - contact, financial, work history, etc. - to any other company, period. Unlike many companies who routinely sell their customers to direct marketing organizations, NORHOP keeps all client information. NORHOP is completely committed to safeguarding your personal information and protecting your privacy.
Keeping your information confidential and secure is an important part of our responsibility to you, and we take this responsibility very seriously. This privacy statement describes our policies and practices that protect your information.
Please read on to learn more about the ways in which we are working to protect your privacy. We recognize and value the trust you have placed in us, and as always, we will continue to serve you with integrity and respect in the years to come.
These policies may be amended at any time. We will keep you informed of any applicable changes as required by law.
NORHOP has agreed to disclose its information practices and notify you of:
The privacy and security of your personal information is the foremost consideration of NORHOP, and we are completely committed to safeguarding your privacy. If you have questions or concerns regarding this statement, you should contact NORHOP by sending email to
NORHOP uses personal information to obtain financing for clients' home purchases. We'll always specify the purposes for which we collect information, and only collect information with your consent. And rest assured you can change the information that we collect about you at any time, and as often as necessary.
Because we must gather some personal information about you in order to offer you the financing you require, we believe you should be fully aware of the information that we collect about you, how we use it, and how you can correct or change it.
Whether you are a NORHOP client, or are just visiting our web site, we promise to protect the information about your visit.
NORHOP collects required information that is necessary to fully service your NORHOP account, optional information that you provide through voluntary registration, and tracking information derived primarily by tallying page views on our site.
Required information is that data that NORHOP needs in order to process your NORHOP application. This is collected on the online application system or on paper forms.
The online application system collects the necessary contact information such as (your name, Social Security number, address, phone number and email address) to service your account.
In addition to collecting required information, we collect a small amount of optional information from our clients and visitors. This information is used to tailor our account services to most effectively serve you, and to better understand the aggregate profile of our clients. This information may also be used in developing new services. This information is outlined below.
Like any business interested in attracting and offering the highest quality of service to clients, NORHOP gathers voluntary demographic information about our clients. Questions seek to gain insight on such things as how an individual became aware of our service, the client's gender, occupation and household income. This information is collected and stored with the client's individual NORHOP account information. This information is kept completely private and confidential. It is aggregated with that of all other clients to provide us with the ability to tailor our services and content to those individuals most interested in our service. Linkage to individual clients is cut after NORHPO anonymizes its data (see tracking information below).
Client comments and inquiries are collected and stored for each client that submits them. This represents one of the many ways that clients can contact us regarding any inquiries that they have with the NORHOP service.
NORHOP occasionally conducts user surveys to better target our service offering to existing as well as new clients. We sometimes share aggregated demographic information in these surveys with business partners that offer complimentary offerings to the NORHOP service. This information is summarized in aggregate, and information about specific individuals is never shared with any third party. Linkage to individual clients is cut after NORHOP anonymizes its data.
NORHOP may occasionally offer sweepstakes, contests and member incentive programs to clients, visitors to the NORHOP web site (www.norhop.org), the general public and individuals identified through direct mail lists.
These offerings may be promoted on the web site, through the online application system, banner ads, direct mail, web content registration, and press releases.
At a minimum, required information includes name and email address; in some cases, the user must answer mandatory survey questions about other personal data or enter a prize code. The information gathered in the entry form is used to verify the entrant's identity, to send the entrant an email notification that the entry has been received, and to contact winners and/or prize recipients.
Because the rules and terms of each contest can vary, all information about each contest is clearly posted during the event. All contests and sweepstakes are conducted in full accordance with United States federal and state laws.
The NORHOP Referal Programs allow clients to earn payments for each individual that, as a result of their recommendation, also becomes a client. Existing clients provide the contact information of the referred party, and NORHOP contacts that person informing them of the NORHOP service. All referred clients are told how their contact information was obtained and that the referring party will receive credit for the referral.
NORHOP's web server logs information in aggregate to get a better picture of where our visitors come from and to plan for future enhancements. The following information is logged and tracked:
This privacy pledge assures you that NORHOP will never divulge any of your personal information - contact, financial, history - to any other organization unless:

In an effort to expand our client base, NORHOP may disclose summary information, obtained by combining information from many clients, but with the name and other individual identifiers removed. Typically, aggregate reports disclose usage, demographic and traffic patterns to business partners.
We do not share information about individual users for marketing purposes with any third party, unless requested expressly by the client or as described in the Use of Information section. NORHOP may offer its services through strategic relationships with other companies where such an offering makes sense for NORHOP, its clients, and its partners. The NORHOP online application system may be included in conjunction with, or integrated with, other online businesses and web sites. In these cases, individual client information may be shared with strategic partners to: support the NORHOP service offering, assist in satisfying client inquiries, or fulfill client requests for service.
NORHOP opposes the emailing of any junk mail, and does not sell client information to email lists or telemarketers. If any of our related sites engage in such practices, for any reason, NORHOP will immediately investigate, and if appropriate, discontinue services with such parties. If you receive junk email that mentions NORHOP services, please send details to us at and we will investigate promptly.
If NORHOP changes this privacy policy, updates will be posted to the privacy statement and other places we deem appropriate. Information will be used in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
If users' personally identifiable information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. If users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if any material changes are made to the privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our Web site notifying users of the change. In some cases when a notice is posted, we will also email users who have opted to receive communications from NORHOP.
If you become a client or are just visiting the site, you can be assured that we will use the information gathered here only for the purposes stated here, and only in accordance with this pledge.
This privacy and security pledge is part of our contract with you.
Thank you for choosing NORHOP!
